Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (SSAWG) provides information and support for organizations and individuals in 13 Southern states. Sponsors annual conference and trade show with workshops, discussions, and farm tours. Virtual farm tours.

"With support from the USDA Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program, Southern SAWG provides training and technical assistance to individuals and groups who are developing projects that promote sustainable food systems and community food security.

"Community Foodworks is a comprehensive system for producing and training beginning farmers and establishing a thriving network of small farms producing and marketing sustainably-grown local foods."

"Beginning farmers can gain more experience through apprenticeships or attend trainings to enhance their skills of growing, marketing, and running a business. One-on-one assistance is also available at no charge through our request for assistance form."

"The goal of our project is to use the basic business development model and apply it to agriculture operations; thus, tying business and marketing skills to agriculture, making it a seamless endeavor and increase the likelihood of economic profitability.

"The overall goal of this project is to increase the number of small family farms in Florida through an innovative, multi-faceted program that links non-governmental organizations, the University of Florida's teaching and extension programs, established farmers willing to mentor new farmers and beginning small family farmers."
