The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) Young Farmer Training Program (YFTP) is a paid multi-year farming apprenticeship for youth in Wake County. The IFFS Raleigh Teaching Farm hosts apprentices two days per week beginning each Spring.
The Farm Business and Production Management technical diploma includes both classroom and on-the-farm instruction as well as group tours to give the producer-student a comprehensive, affordable education in production agriculture. The program consists of five or six courses taught over a six-year period.
"The South Dakota Center for Farm/Ranch Management at Mitchell Technical Institute is a newly organized place dedicated to assisting agriculture producers in South Dakota to become better business managers.
"Provide an innovative approach to agricultural business education at tribal colleges that more effectively integrates entrepreneurship training to promote the development and sustainability of ag-related businesses on reservations.
"The overall goal of this project is to increase the number of small family farms in Florida through an innovative, multi-faceted program that links non-governmental organizations, the University of Florida's teaching and extension programs, established farmers willing to mentor new farmers and beginning small family farmers."
